Day-by-Day Itinerary
🏝 Day 1 — Prison Island · Nakupenda Sandbank · Stone Town City Tour
Start your Zanzibar adventure with a trio of iconic experiences. Visit Prison Island to encounter the giant Aldabra tortoises, some over 100 years old. Sail out to Nakupenda — a pristine white sandbank rising from the Indian Ocean — for a seafood BBQ lunch on the water. Then explore the labyrinthine alleys, carved doors, and historic landmarks of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
🌳 Day 2 — Jozani Forest · Salaam Cave · Mtende Beach
Head into the interior to meet Zanzibar’s famous red colobus monkeys — one of Africa’s rarest primates, found only on this island — in the ancient forest of Jozani. Explore the mysterious Salaam Cave with its stalactite formations. End the day at the secluded Mtende Beach on the southeast coast, where the Indian Ocean is crystal-clear and the beach is almost entirely deserted.
🐬 Day 3 — Mnemba Dolphins · Snorkelling · Kendwa Beach
Sail out to the waters off Mnemba Atoll — one of the Indian Ocean’s premier marine sites — for a swim with resident spinner and bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat. Then snorkel the spectacular coral reefs of Mnemba, where sea turtles, reef sharks, and hundreds of fish species live among living coral gardens. Finish at the legendary Kendwa Beach for the rest of the afternoon.
🌿 Day 4 — Spice Farm · The Rock Restaurant · Kae Funk Sunset
Discover why Zanzibar earned the name “The Spice Island” on a guided tour of a working spice plantation — tasting fresh vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom straight from the source. Then dine at The Rock Restaurant, perched on a coral outcrop in the middle of the Indian Ocean — one of the world’s most iconic dining settings. End the evening at Kae Funk’s private beach for a magical sunset over the sea.
⛵ Day 5 — Safari Blue · Sandbank · Blue Lagoon · Snorkelling · Baobab Tree
The grand finale. Safari Blue is Zanzibar’s most celebrated full-day boat adventure — sailing through the Menai Bay Conservation Area to a pristine sandbank, then on to the famous Blue Lagoon for swimming and snorkelling in waters of extraordinary clarity. Visit the ancient baobab trees on Kwale Island. A seafood BBQ lunch is served on the sandbank. This is the day that stays with you forever.
